Tuesday Triumphs.

Well, considering this is my first blog post in almost a week, I consider this alone a triumph.  I’ve been working my butt off on school work… three classes over the summer with a full-time job might have not been my most intelligent decision ever, but it’s what I had to do in order to be eligible for a loan.  Fun stuff.

scienceSo far, my Environmental Science class has proven to be the most trying.  It’s a ton of work, but I’m also learning a lot of interesting stuff… It’s kind of crazy to think that I’ve been so concerned with nutrition that I’ve neglected the well-being of the world around me.  Sure, I recycle, but that’s about the extent of it.  I do have my own garden, so I think I should get some brownie points for that 😉

Let me fill you in on some exciting things as of late.

We went to see Grown Ups 2 with some friends this weekend as a double date, which was a ton of fun. I love spending time with them!  Triumph #2 is that we not only paid less for our tickets since 5:20 is still considered matinee, but we also scored some awesome fro-yo afterward!

yogurtIt was especially nice to sit in the back of Bamboo and chat, since movies don’t allow much time for that.

jaridJarid found a new love in their orange sorbet, and I got a delicious trio of California Tart, No Sugar Added Coconut, and Cake Batter flavors!

Earlier that day, as I forgot to mention, I got my DIY on and changed a ton of stuff around that I had previously placed in our dining area and living room.

picslivingroomkitchenI’m thinking I’ll keep it this way for a very long time.  It really opens up the room, believe it or not!  Triumph #3!

I also added a few prints to the bathroom and snatched up the cute basket on our towel holder above the toilet at a craft store for $3.

additionsI promise, our bathroom isn’t actually that yellow 🙂  The lighting just isn’t very good.

Another triumph?  This cute soap dispenser that I found at Goodwill on Sunday afternoon, while out meandering after church…

goodwill… clearly, it was a leftover from Target.  We got it for $2.99!  It matches the bathroom perfectly, especially with the new art I’ve framed for on top of our shelf!

bathTriumph #4… I’ve been sweating out my stress with an elliptical workout followed by a weighted ab rotation.  Usually the cardio only lasts me about 20-40 minutes (unless the particular show I’m watching while I do it is longer), followed by things like side planks, corkscrews, bicycles, crunches, and oblique mountain climbers.

In the winter, I work out in a hoodie & shorts… in the summer, it’s typically a sports bra and shorts… no need to worry about dudes ogling at the gym…just another plus to having your own space in the basement to get sweaty!

As far as food goes, I’ve been eating a random array of goodies.

Nothing super exciting, but each and every time, but I’m doing a lot better at eating what I’m craving, regardless of what time it is, what the micro/macro ratios are, and regardless of calorie count.  This intuitive eating thing is something I’m quite a fan of 😉 I’ll count that as triumph #5.

Last, but not least, triumph #6… I’ve finally had a chance to post the winners of the Barlean’s and BAMR Band giveaways!

barleannumberThe winner of Barlean’s Omega Swirl in your flavor choice is Kristin from Must Have Boxes! Congrats girl!  Please email me at cox_2446{at}hotmail{dot}com to redeem your prize!

Another huge congrats to Marni, who won her choice of a BAMR Band!  Marni, please email me at the above listed address to claim your band!

Happy Tuesday!  Thanks for being so patient with me.  Blogging right now has been put on the back burner for things like school and work.  I will be posting as frequently as possible!

Have a great week!

  1. Seriously I have a love/hate relationship with working out at home. While I LOVE not having pervs gawk at me in my short shorts and sports bra, I HATE working out with no air conditioning! lol

  2. Can I just tell you how much I adore that wedding photo you have on your living room wall. Can’t get much cuter than that 🙂

p.s. tell your man I’m sorry about Hudson’s injury last night, Ha!

    • Ahh, thanks babe!!! I will tell him. He was not a happy camper!! lol He said all his teams are getting injured… apparently there are already a bunch of cowboys on the injured list, too! xoxo.
