Well, considering this is my first blog post in almost a week, I consider this alone a triumph. I’ve been working my butt off on school work… three classes over the summer with a full-time job might have not been my most intelligent decision ever, but it’s what I had to do in order to be eligible for a loan. Fun stuff.
So far, my Environmental Science class has proven to be the most trying. It’s a ton of work, but I’m also learning a lot of interesting stuff… It’s kind of crazy to think that I’ve been so concerned with nutrition that I’ve neglected the well-being of the world around me. Sure, I recycle, but that’s about the extent of it. I do have my own garden, so I think I should get some brownie points for that 😉
Let me fill you in on some exciting things as of late.
We went to see Grown Ups 2 with some friends this weekend as a double date, which was a ton of fun. I love spending time with them! Triumph #2 is that we not only paid less for our tickets since 5:20 is still considered matinee, but we also scored some awesome fro-yo afterward!
It was especially nice to sit in the back of Bamboo and chat, since movies don’t allow much time for that.
Earlier that day, as I forgot to mention, I got my DIY on and changed a ton of stuff around that I had previously placed in our dining area and living room.
I also added a few prints to the bathroom and snatched up the cute basket on our towel holder above the toilet at a craft store for $3.
Another triumph? This cute soap dispenser that I found at Goodwill on Sunday afternoon, while out meandering after church…
Triumph #4… I’ve been sweating out my stress with an elliptical workout followed by a weighted ab rotation. Usually the cardio only lasts me about 20-40 minutes (unless the particular show I’m watching while I do it is longer), followed by things like side planks, corkscrews, bicycles, crunches, and oblique mountain climbers.
In the winter, I work out in a hoodie & shorts… in the summer, it’s typically a sports bra and shorts… no need to worry about dudes ogling at the gym…just another plus to having your own space in the basement to get sweaty!
As far as food goes, I’ve been eating a random array of goodies.
Nothing super exciting, but each and every time, but I’m doing a lot better at eating what I’m craving, regardless of what time it is, what the micro/macro ratios are, and regardless of calorie count. This intuitive eating thing is something I’m quite a fan of 😉 I’ll count that as triumph #5.
Another huge congrats to Marni, who won her choice of a BAMR Band! Marni, please email me at the above listed address to claim your band!
Happy Tuesday! Thanks for being so patient with me. Blogging right now has been put on the back burner for things like school and work. I will be posting as frequently as possible!
Have a great week!
