Friday during my lunch break, I ran over to Ann Taylor Loft, because I heard they were having a ginormous sale and snatched up these two gems
The white Eyelet Swiss Dot Cotton Tee (originally $49.50) and the Textured Button Shoulder Sweater (originally $59.50) came to a total of $28.00 in yard-sale money. I happily handed over my cash and left feeling as though I just scored a total deal. What’s nice about selling old clothes that you no longer wear, is that when you find deals like these, you don’t have to think twice about taking advantage!
Friday night is also date night for the hubs and myself, so after dinner in, we had a little something planned. We’ve both been itching to see “Now You See Me” since the very first time we saw a preview.
It was just as fabulous as we had hoped–twists and turns throughout the entire flick have you on the edge of your seat, always trying to think ahead & to figure out what’s really going on.
Before the movie, we also picked up my ring from Kay’s since it’d finally come in
Saturday morning began with some pancakes, as all Saturday mornings should, in my book…
…and then an elliptical workout + floor abs. Before long, we were off to a family birthday party. My cousin Paige is officially a teenager!
My Momma did an awesome job of decorating the deck! It was really cute the set-up she and my Dad created for the event.
(I spy a Mother’s Day present disguised as party decor?!)
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect! Everyone was flocking to the pool because of how hot it was! At this point, Jarid & I suited up and got our swim on! I made sure that he was slathered in sunscreen, but totally forgot about myself. Ever since last year at the beach, when Jarid got sun poisoning, I’ve been nervous about him being outside! He burns pretty easily… me, not so much.
First swim of the summer for us! The water felt AMAZING. Much to my dismay, I did feel the burn… that night when we got home, I realized just how burnt I’d gotten. It wasn’t awful, but it’s definitely there… especially on my upper back and chest/neck area. Oh! And take note of those new shades on my face: thank you, Sunglasses Shop! The review on these babies is coming soon.
The eats were typical picnic food… hot dogs, BBQ, veggie trays, fruit, desserts, etc. My lunch was a fantastic, yet simple salad brought from home dressed in cashew “cheese” dressing (soaked blended cashews, nutritional yeast, apple cider vinegar, salt, and water). I also consumed a bunch of watermelon & cantaloupe! So good this time of year.
Soon, the kids were off to a Senator’s baseball game. Jarid & I helped my Dad and some friends clean everything up after the party, and then headed home.
Sunday festivities are always the same… and I like it that way! Workout, breakfast, church, lunch, and rest!
He was yelling at me to move, but I couldn’t help myself. I needed this picture.
As usual, lunch was amazing… this week, the vegetarian meatballs were back! There was another new-to-me item on the salad bar and I don’t remember what it was called, but it contained wild rice, quinoa, pumpkin seeds, chickpeas, and honey. It was decent, but nothing epic. The usual suspects: chicken & broccoli, braised purple cabbage, and bean salad with a side of seaweed salad.
After lunch, we stopped at the mall in search of Father’s Day gifts… what do you get a guy who has everything?! We left empty handed, but we did manage to snag Jarid a much-needed beach towel at Bleacher Bums. He chose a Duke one on sale for $12.99!
When we got home, Jarid worked on mulching the front flower beds, I did some baking and dishes, and then we settled in for a movie together. I wasn’t too hungry, but before we started the movie around 8PM, I did throw together this lovely plate of goodness
Avocado, cucumber, tomato, seaweed snacks, salt and pepper.
A little while later for dessert, I had plain greek yogurt mixed with peanut flour, Stevia, and salt. It was like peanut butter mousse! ❤
Here it is… Monday again! Make the most of it.
