Packages a Plenty

I laughed out loud in my car when I pulled up and saw a boatload of packages sitting in front of our door.  Our UPS guy probably thinks we’re doing something illegal…I can only imagine what our neighbors are thinking.

I won’t lie, it feels like Christmas every time this happens.  The excitement of what will come out of each package and the anticipation before I can rip them open gets me every time.  One of the many reasons I love being a blogger.

Since Perky Jerky was in one of the first things I opened, and it was about dinner time when I got home, I couldn’t help but snag some Sweet & Spicy Turkey Jerky right away.  Guys, I am already a fan.  Never have I ever tried a jerky that was so moist and fresh in my life.  It wasn’t that overly dried, hard to chew kind of crap.  It tasted like it was JUST made.  The spices were wonderful, too.  Review coming soon!

kale saladI decided a girl can’t live on jerky alone, so I sauteed some green beans, onions, red pepper & kale in Lite Gazebo Room dressing + salt on the stove top and called it dinner.

Lately, my packed work lunches have consisted of sandwiches.  I’m not complaining… they were some incredible combinations… like BLTs and egg+avocado.

desklunchGluten-free breads like Udi’s & Rudi’s have been my saving grace when I’m unsure what to throw into my lunch bag.

However, on days that I’m feeling ambitious (and by ambitious, I mean not quite as lazy), I can put together a pretty hefty Tupperware container for my afternoon meal.

lunchI actually microwaved my quinoa this morning (seasoned with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder) and used it to bulk up my bed of spinach, a few chickpeas, 1 over-easy egg, and Mama Pea’s Mmm Sauce

Another thing I’ve discovered recently?

Cheetos makes a Simply Natural White Cheddar variety of their infamous “puffs”.  At 150 calories per 32 piece serving, I’d say they’ve got a winner.  They’re just as cheesy and delicious (I’m a white cheddar lover), and the ingredients list is organic & gluten-free!

  1. Sami, how many pieces of turkey bacon do you put on a sandwich? You know I have an eating disorder and I know you are recovered, so I would trust you to help me know the proper amounts. Thanks sweetie. Your meals look fantastic. Egg and avocado…yum. (have to have the ketchup). Avocado and anything is yum!

I think your salad dressing has MSG, though.
