Fun Fact Friday {4/12}

I can totally relate to Courtney when she says that she feels all over the place this morning.  My mind is going about 100 different directions, so that’s how this post is going to be.  It’s Friday, so what better reason do I need to mix things up?

To start things off, I’m going to make an exciting announcement:

We have a GOOD BEAN winner!

Congratulations to Roberrrr!  Please send me an email at cox_2446[at}hotmail{dot}com with your name, address, and a phone number for shipping purposes so I can pass it along to my buddy, Meagan from the company.

I realized this morning, that more often than not, I drive to work with my hair soak and wet.  I can’t tell you the last time I used a blow dryer on a work day.

$30 GAP shirt on sale for $12.99

When I get to work, and my hair has dried a bit, I throw it into a quick lazy girl braid so it doesn’t totally look like a lion’s mane.

Another fun fact:  If it’s a gorgeous day outside, I spend my breaks at work walking around the Capital Complex to get my legs moving and away from my desk.

ME

If it’s as ugly out as it is today, you can find me on my yoga ball doing some ab work or walking up and down the hallways.  It gives me a chance to stretch out and stop the staring at my computer screen for a few minutes.

I really enjoy getting packages. It feels like getting a present in the mail, even if it’s something I’ve already paid for.

I’ve found that you can save a lot of money (15%) off of bulk groceries through Amazon.com.  The items I’ve selected through the Subscribe & Save program are things that I would pick up at the grocery store anyway, so not only does it save me a trip (thanks to free shipping), but it makes it easy to keep things on hand that we use on a daily basis.

S0, what’s on my list?

syrup

1- Log Cabin Original Syrup, Sugar Free, 12 Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6)

I use this syrup every day on my 2-Ingredient pancakes (which is now up to like… 5 ingredients? I’ll share the recipe, soon!).  Sometimes I like to stir it into my unsweetened almond milk, too!  Jarid eats it everyday on his toaster waffles 🙂

2- Nature’s Way Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 16 Ounce

Where to begin with this stuff?  I use it for everything from moisturizer for my hands/legs to using it in my skillet to make pancakes.  It is delicious and nutritious.  You can read all about the benefits of coconut oil here.  I also used this recipe to make my own healthy chocolate bars last night!  You can use it for hair conditioner, too!

3-TalkingRain Sparkling ICE Black Raspberry, 17-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 12)

These Black Raspberry zero calorie, sparkling drinks are super refreshing.  They taste just like juice and I love that they have Green Tea Extract in them, even though it’s not detectable.  They’re also packed with vitamins & minerals.  This flavor of the brand is our favorite, but we enjoy the Strawberry Lemonade and the Peach Nectarine, too.

4- GF Harvest Gluten Free Organic Rolled Oats, 41-Ounce Pouch

I can’t wait to start baking with these rolled oats!  There are so many recipes I want to try out!  Not to mention, I will finally be able to have oatmeal for breakfast again!

Another one of these packages was from a previous giveaway that I’d won from Julie!  ♥ Love her blog.

winner

Formulx Natural Recovery Whey Protein Powder!  This stuff is gluten-free, soy-free and clocks in with some awesome stats.  It is grass-fed, non-GMO whey protein isolate from cows never treated with rBGH.  On the website it costs $54.95, which I would never be able to afford.  I felt so blessed to have won it!  Such a treat.

I’ve gotten a lot of questions from friends about what I DO eat, since I’m no longer eating gluten, so I’ll give you an idea…

Sliced red skin/russet potatoes with Lite Gazebo Room dressing microwaved until tender/crispy, 2-Ingredient Pancakes smothered in Brummel & Brown and sugar free syrup, hard boiled egg whites (later filled with roasted garlic hummus + squirted with reduced sugar ketchup), Broccoli & Cheese Spaghetti Squash Casserole,  Chipotle inspired salads with brown rice, black beans, romaine, avocado, plain greek yogurt, tomato, and onion, and perhaps my favorite meal… using Bob’s Red Mill gluten-free pizza dough mix!

This girl is eatin’ and feelin’ gooddd.  I can already tell a  huge difference between the way I feel having gone almost 2 weeks without gluten.  Much less bloated and I feel like I have tons more energy.  I’m so thankful to have found this solution! It’s really true that you never know how bad you actually felt until you feel really GOOD.

Happy Friday, loves!  Enjoy your weekends ♥

  1. Gotta love when you can find some cute deals @ gap! I have a question; It looks like you have thick hair.. does it take long to style your bangs? I’ve been debating about getting some for a little while now, just haven’t done it!

    • I DO have thick hair. It used to be a lot thicker, actually! It doesn’t take too long to style the bangs, though… it’s more like the REST of it that takes forever. That’s why I always end up leaving it air dry on the way to work and throwing it into a quick braid. Haha. If I took the time to blow dry and style it every morning, I would NEVER make it to work on time… that, or I’d have to wake up at like 4am. lol

      xo.

  2. I avoid Gap simply because of the price, but shoot if I could find deals like that Id be all over that place!!
All your goodies look really good!! I love ordering online as well. Getting stuff in the mail is so much fun!
